ASSIGMENT QUESTION MPW1133/2133 MALAYSIAN STUDIES SEM SEP 2012

PURPOSE

The purpose of this assignment:

I.   To understand the main political parties involved in the country’s struggle for independence.

II.    To demonstrate the importance of political compromise among major ethnics which accelerates the country’s independence.

III.    To discuss the contributions of inter ethnic political tolerance that formed the basics principles of the Federal Constitutions.  

REQUIREMENTS

Compromise between the races is the core of the country's independence on August 31, 1957. This is associated with the willingness of UMNO, MCA and MIC to accept and submitted the Alliance Party Memorandum to the Reid Commission which forms the nucleus of the constitution that creates an independence Malaysia.

Based on the above statement, you are required to write a comprehensive report on the issues of the Alliance Party, inter ethnic tolerance and the impact of the compromise towards independence Malaysia with clear focus on:

i.                    THREE political parties that formed the Alliance Party.

ii.                  THREE major principles of inter ethnic compromise in the Alliance Party Memorandum.

iii.                FOUR major articles in the Federal Constitutions which reflects the inter ethnics compromise in the Alliance Party.

TUJUAN

Objektif tugasan ini adalah untuk:

I.    Memahami parti-parti politik dalam Parti Perikatan yang memperjuangkan kemerdekaan Malaysia.

II.   Mendemonstrasi kepentingan kesatuan politik antara kaum dalam mempercepatkan kemerdekaan negara.

III.  Membincangkan berkenaan sumbangan tolak-ansur politik yang membentuk prinsip-prinsip asas Perlembagaan Persekutuan.

KEPERLUAN

Tolak ansur antara kaum merupakan teras kemerdekaan negara pada 31 Ogos 1957 . Ini berkaitrapat dengan kesanggupan UMNO, MCA dan MIC untuk menerima dan menyerahkan Memorandum Parti Perikatan kepada Suruhanjaya Reid  yang sekaligus telah menjadi nuklues kepada Perlembagaan yang membawa kepada Malaysia yang merdeka.

Berdasarkan kenyataan di atas, anda dikehendaki menulis sebuah laporan yang terperinci tentang isu-isu mengenai Parti Perikatan, prinsip tolak-ansur antara kaum dan impaknya kepada Malaysia yang merdeka dengan memberi fokus jelas terhadap:

i.              TIGA parti politik yang menjadi komponen dalam Parti Perikatan.

ii.            TIGA prinsip utama tolak-ansur antara kaum di dalam Memorandum Parti Perikatan.

iii.          EMPAT perkara di dalam Perlembagaan Persekutuan yang berlandaskan prinsip tolak-ansur antara kaum dari Memorandum Parti Perikatan.
